Meet The Team

Dr. Heather Furnas specializes in rejuvenating the aesthetic of men and women of all ages. She is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been in practice for almost 30 years. She is the co-founder of Allegro MedSpa and is thrilled to be serving alongside her husband, Dr. Francisco Canales. Dr. Furnas has served as a Clinical Instructor in surgery at Harvard Medical School and is currently Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Stanford University. Her overall goal is to provide the highest quality of care with the utmost integrity.

Co-Founder As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Francisco Canales specializes in aesthetic services for men and women in the Northern California area. Prior to establishing himself in Santa Rosa, he began his own private practice in Boston, MA. Additionally, he worked as a faculty member at Harvard Medical School in the division of plastic surgery. Upon moving to Sonoma County, Dr. Canales was appointed the chief of plastic surgery at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and the chief of surgery at Warrack Hospital. With his wife, Dr. Heather Furnas, he co-founded Plastic Surgery Associates and Allegro MedSpa of Santa Rosa in 1992.

Plastic Surgeon  Dr. Eric Culbertson is double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Specializing in cosmetic surgery of the face and body, Dr. Culbertson completed training specifically in aesthetic surgery during his fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern, which is only offered to one applicant per year and has repeatedly been ranked the top-ranked plastic surgery program in the country. There, he was mentored by some of the most highly regarded aesthetic plastic surgeons in the world. Dr. Culbertson moved to Sonoma County from Texas with his wife and two boys in 2017.

Kelsey is a dedicated Practice Manager at Plastic Surgery Associates and Allegro Med Spa, where she focuses on optimizing workflow and enhancing patient experiences. With a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Southern Oregon University and a background as a Medical Assistant, Kelsey brings valuable insights to her role. Her proactive approach and commitment to excellence help drive the success of both practices, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient care and operational efficiency. Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and exploring the outdoors.

Tiana started her career in 2013 building her experience in Plastic Surgery and Facial Aesthetics. She grew up and lived in Sonoma County until middle school, when she relocated to Vacaville with her family. She always felt Sonoma County was home and moved back about 7 years ago. Tiana has extensive experience with skin care lines, all aesthetic treatments and finds joy in helping others feel great about themselves.

Originally from Southern California, Melinda moved to Bodega Bay in 2016 and has spent the past several years working as an aesthetic nurse practitioner in Marin and Sonoma Counties. Her background includes dual Bachelors of Arts and Science, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles. At both Santa Rosa and Novato Allegro MedSpa locations, Melinda performs laser resurfacing and injectables with expert care and precision. Employing a multitude of laser platforms and injectable treatments, she champions self-confidence by improving pigmentation irregularities, reducing unwanted hair, smoothing fine lines, and restoring clearer, healthier complexions. With a genuine smile and a positive attitude, Melinda provides her patients with holistic treatment plans to achieve their aesthetic goals and maintain fantastic results.

At home, Melinda enjoys time with her large family and many pets, laughing out loud at rom-coms and sitcoms, reading adventure novels, and eating delicious foods. As a mother of many children, she is often heard telling patients and coworkers alike that “work is my happy place where I come to be surrounded by beautiful happy people … and avoid laundry.”

After earning her initial degree in Exercise Physiology, Kirstie Anderson graduated from nursing school in Colorado in 2007 and became a Registered Nurse. Born and raised in Santa Rosa, she returned to her hometown and has been a part of the PSA and Allegro MedSpa family since 2013. She has specialized training in Botox, dermal fillers, lasers, and medical-grade skincare, including several Masters training courses through Allergan for Botox and filler. Kirstie is known for her expertise and gentle touch and for helping her patients feel beautiful with natural-looking results. In addition to her busy med spa schedule, Kirstie also assists Dr. Canales and Dr. Furnas with their surgical patients, helping them to feel comfortable and cared for during their surgical process.

With 14 years of nursing experience, including time spent in ICU and cardiac surgery, Karen transitioned to cosmetic nursing in 2019 to pursue something more fun and uplifting. Since then, she has been treating patients with lasers and injecting Botox and fillers. Karen has been a Santa Rosa resident since 2014, is a new mother to her baby boy, and enjoys caring for her corgi and cattle dog. Her hobbies include scuba diving and international travel, with one of her favorite experiences being a seven-month trip through Europe in 2022.

Diana was raised in the small town of Kelseyville California. She graduated from Mendocino College and obtained her Nursing degree in 2019. She continued her education in Aesthetics and in 2020 she obtained multiple certifications through the National Laser Institute specializing in skin rejuvenating procedures like lasers, filler and advanced injectables. Diana has a keen interest in skin rejuvenation and the latest anti-aging technologies. Diana also continues her commitment to her local community hospital as a part-time nurse.

Outside of work, Diana’s world revolves around her kids, 5-year-old Vida and teenager Damian. Diana loves cooking together and crafting with her children. “I love to explore/ travel in my downtime and try different amazing foods. Diana has been an artist since a young age, and she was recognized throughout high school for her artwork. Using her artistic talents, Diana found her passion in the world of aesthetic nursing.

Martha initiated her career as a Medical Assistant in 2003 and soon after developed her passion for skin care. This desire to grow in the field led to multiple credentials for highly sought-after aesthetic and skin care procedures. Having also worked as a lead Medical Assistant and as a Medical Transcriber, Martha is highly skilled in educating patients about skin care products both aesthetically and medically.

Martha joined the Plastic Surgery Associates and Allegro MedSpa team in 2016 and since then has developed and improved her professional skills. Specifically, Martha specializes in the body contouring treatment known as CoolSculpting. In addition, Martha is an expert at numerous other procedures including chemical peels, Hydrafacials, Venus legacy, Nu Era, Embrace and Aspen. Martha has found that education is key to helping patients make informed decisions about their personal skin care. Martha enjoys helping people improve the health of their skin and body and has found the greatest reward in helping her patients feel more confident.

Jennifer is a recent transplant from Southern California, where she had extensive experience working in med spas in Orange County. She is passionate about skin care, from rejuvenating treatments to working with acne or problematic skin types. Jennifer is experienced in Hydrafacial & has great knowledge of medical skin care lines.

Jennifer enjoys traveling, discovering all that Marin and Sonoma Counties offer, and educating herself on beauty, health and fashion. She enjoys entertaining and cooking, as well as spending time with her husband and 3 adult daughters.

Keolano was born and raised in Sonoma County. She enjoys going for walks and hikes and spends her weekends with friends and family. She loves being part of the welcoming and friendly environment at Allegro MedSpa and PSA, where helping patients is her top priority.

Born and raised in Sonoma County, Ilse has been in the medical field for about eight years. Since joining Allegro MedSpa, she has enjoyed expanding her knowledge of skin care. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, exploring new places to eat around Sonoma County, and enjoying the outdoors.

Mckayla, a Sonoma County native, brings her vibrant and bubbly personality to her role as Front Office Coordinator at Allegro Medspa. When she’s not warmly welcoming patients, McKayla enjoys spending time with her two daughters, exploring local thrift stores, and indulging in her creative passions like sewing and arts & crafts. Her love for community and creativity shines through in everything she does.

Jasmine was born and raised in the heart of Napa Valley, St. Helena, California. She has 8 years of experience in the medical field and found her love for skin care when she joined Allegro Medspa. Jasmine is very close to her family and enjoys spending time with them and her loving husband on weekends. Jasmine has been on a stage singing since the tender age of 5. She still occasionally performs with Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas and Mariachi Angelitas any time she is able to. Jasmine loves her work family and loves to help patients in any way she can.

Jessica joined Allegro Med Spa in 2021, already with an extensive history in the aesthetic industry. Jessica’s passion for skin began when she suffered from acne at a very young age. It was then she realized it was her destiny to help educate others on how to appropriately care for their skin.

Jessica achieved her license as a Professional Aesthetician in 2016 at the top of her class from Lytle’s Beauty College in Santa Rosa, California. After she graduated, she began working as an Aesthetician in Dermatology where she was able to learn more about pre-cancerous and cancerous skin lesions.

She received her Certification as a Dermatology Technician and Medical Transcriber. She also obtained her Certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant, and has been able to assist in many different procedures including Minor Surgery, Mohs Skin Cancer Surgery, Injectables, Chemical Peels, Cryo Facials, Photodynamic Therapy, UV Therapy, CO2 Fractionated Laser, Fraxel, Laser Hair Removal, IPL, FemTouch, Ultherapy, Microneedling w/ RF, CoolSculpting, EmSculpt, and PicoWay.

Jessica is also trained in HydraFacial, TCA Peels and Dermaplaning, and is highly knowledgeable when it comes to medical grade skin care. “I take pride in educating our patients to help better understand their skin and what products are going to be best for them. I want to help give back that confidence that everyone deserves to feel, not only on the outside, but also the inside. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful and confident in their skin, which is why I love what I do so much.”

Jessica is positive, upbeat, and always willing to lend a helping hand. In her free time, Jessica enjoys finding delicious new recipes to cook with her boyfriend and taking her dog, Jilly Bean, for walks.

Palmer received her certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant in 2021 and has been fascinated by all things skincare from a young age. She has worked at several med spas as a patient care coordinator and medical assistant before joining the Allegro team. In her free time she enjoys watching dermatology videos on YouTube and taking local dance classes in Santa Rosa. She loves discussing skin care products with clients and passing on her knowledge of all the latest technologies in this field. She believes everyone deserves to have glowing, refreshed skin at any age and genuinely cares about each and every patient’s experience here at Allegro!

Gabi is a skilled Medical Assistant at Allegro Medspa, with nearly 10 years of experience in the medical field. A proud Napa Valley College graduate, she loves helping patients feel confident and cared for. Outside of work, Gabi enjoys spending time outdoors and making lasting memories with her family.
