Laser Hair Reduction: A Fast, Pain-free Alternative

The lasers we have at Allegro MedSpa are fast, can treat almost every skin color, and are almost completely pain-free. They have a built-in cooling technology and they have a larger spot size so the treatment is over before you know it! It continually amazes patients how quick and easy the process is if they have had previous experience with laser hair reduction.
Is Laser Hair Reduction Permanent?
Laser hair reduction is intended to be permanent, with today’s technology it certainly can be permanent.
Hair grows through cycles called telogen (a resting phase) and anagen (an active phase). Hair follicles must be in their anagen phase for the laser to affect the growth. That is why multiple treatments are necessary, as only a portion of the hair follicles are in the anagen phase at any time you are having the treatment. Even when there is some regrowth of hair, the hair tends to be finer, wispier, and lighter in color.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?

Because the hair follicles must be in their active growth phase to respond to the laser, and not every follicle is in an active phase at any one time, one needs multiple treatments. Most patients need 4 to 6 treatments, spaced a few weeks apart for the process to be complete.
