Santa Rosa, CA is one of the largest cities in Sonoma County. The city has a population of 178,391. It is the fifth most populated city in the Bay Area, with a population density of 4,200 people per square mile. The population of Santa Rosa has grown significantly over the past two decades. In 2010, the city updated its General Plan to a more comprehensive 2030 vision. This included the addition of future annexation land, as well as an extension of the planning period by ten years.
