Santa Rosa is a vibrant city in California’s northern Sonoma County that is often described as a foodie destination. The city has an array of restaurants that source most of their food from local farms and produce. Many people visit this town to take part in the annual Wednesday Night Market.
Located just 55 miles north of San Francisco, the city offers visitors a variety of cultural and historical attractions. Santa Rosa is also the home of the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, which provides the area with world-class performances and contemporary visual arts. The center serves 50,000 students in the area with various programs and events.
Santa Rosa’s downtown area has a number of restaurants and specialty stores. One of the largest concentrations of old buildings in the city is located at Railroad Square. Another great attraction is the Wednesday Night Market, which is the county’s premier farmer’s market. Held in the Downtown District every night during the summer, the Market provides a variety of food, entertainment, and shopping options.
Visitors can take advantage of a wide range of bike trails in the area. There are also plenty of camping facilities available at Spring Lake Park. And if you’re looking for a place to watch the sun go down, look no further than the Paradise Ridge Winery Estate Amphitheater.
Santa Rosa has a temperate climate. Most of the year the temperature never dips below 30°F. However, the winters are cool and wet. In fact, it receives an average of 38 inches of rain a year. During the summer months, the weather is warm and the days are long.
